One day, while we still lived in Los Angeles, looking through the thick office supply catalog from our vendor I saw a small piece of inexpensive equipment along with a couple of pages of supplies and information about what it was capable of producing.

What it could do is to punch a series of long, narrow holes, and then hold and open a plastic ‘comb’ allowing the insertion of the pages and the covers. How wonderful! I had begun producing small books and manuals and this opened that process up.

This first binder was mostly plastic and, well, plastic is plastic. Within a year I had spent more and acquired a sturdy metal binder with sharp blades. In fact, we are still using that binder which works to perfection, having bound thousands of copies of rituals and educational manuals.
